Process: Wedding Lettering February 17th, 2011

So in the wake of Valentines day here’s some pretty romance for you. Oh, making plans for that big day. Luckily me and the Mr. chose to elope to Colorado, which was such a fantastic idea. I highly recommended it. The thought of having to plan out a big party for the family and think about all the little bits and pieces that one must, seems like such a chore. It was so lovely to have a secret moment for just the two of us. Saying that, I did enjoy doing this ridiculously pretty hand-lettering in January’s Metro Detroit Bride. Luckily I got to work with Jessica Decker again, which was a lot of fun. Really happy with how it turned out and it’s always nice getting hand-lettering jobs.

OK, weddings aren’t all that bad. I’ve been to some of my friends nuptials which have been really lovely and fun. Here’s some wonderful photos by a dear friend & truly talented photographer Danijela Pruginic. She always manages to work at such fun unique weddings. Not only does she capture all the pretty things at the wedding, but she’s fantastic at capturing spontaneous moments.

And how can I forget the wedding of  dear friends and fellow illustrators Jen Hsieh & Kyle Reed. They look pretty spiffy eh? These photos were taken by another fantastic photographer friend Edwin Tse. I love the subtle colours in his photos, they’re so beautiful.

Alright, enough of this silly sentimental stuff. The next post will have to be about monstrosities & unspeakable horrors. Just you wait….

Your tut How to do hand lettering is wonderful; the pictures say everything. I especially like your closeups of the detailed colors in each letter.
