Ron | Charlotte Magazine

I’ve been working with the wonderful art director Jane Fields at Charlotte Magazine now for more than a year, drawing a monthly column to compliment writer Ron Stodghill’s editorial page. His writing is always so charming and intelligent. Sometimes humorous, as in an interview with a traveling friend who hates Charlotte’s sandwich obsession; sometimes touching, talking about the racial divisions and poverty within the community. I almost feel like I’ve been to Charlotte, seeing the City through Ron’s insightful eyes. Here are a few of the many illustrations I’ve created for the editorials – always using the same portrait and switching up the background.
