Pan Am Games Mural | MacLaren McCann & Chevrolet
This was such a unique project to be involved in. I was asked to do a 20×8 ft mural by ad agency MacLaren McCann to showcase Chevrolet’s presentation of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Volunteer program for the Pan Am Countdown in Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square.
It was important to portray a feeling of cooperation and participation in the games and so the concept of making a giant jigsaw puzzle was perfect. It worked out brilliantly, especially seeing how much fun kids had at the Countdown and being involved in making this giant art piece.
I inked the illustration, scanned it very high res and then added colour digitally. It then was sent off to be enlarged, stuck to Aluboard and then cut into pieces for the massive jigsaw puzzle. Never thought I’d see my work used like this!
A big thanks to the folks at Chevrolet and the design team at MacLaren McCann, Alanna Sklar, Norbert Kliszczewski, Ann Solecki, Josh Haupert and Slava Toth for being so great to work with. Also, some of these photos are by me and some by Richard Budman. Thanks Richard!
