The Blue Castle’s story takes place in the early 1920s focusing on a 29 yr old Valancy Stirling in the fictional town of Deerwood, located in the Muskoka region of Ontario, Canada. One of Montgomery’s few books for adults and not set in the Maritimes so it was interesting trying to differentiate this one by scenery by the age of the protagonist and the era.
