Lucky Me Elephant | Needlework Window Display
So cool to collaborate with my partner Jamie Lawson on Needlework‘s storefront window for the annual SuperCrawl event in my hometown, Hamilton Ontario. He and I had also collaborated on their logo in the past so it was great for us all to be working together again. I made the cardboard elephant mask and Jamie painted the lovely lettering signs. Together we cut lots of streamers and foamcore shamrocks. It was a really nice to change to get out of the studio and work on something three-dimensional. So happy with how it turned out.
Jamie’s beautifully hand-painted signs really brought the whole thing together as did the dress that Liz and Kate, the owners of Needlework, for my pachyderm with the fabric that inspired all of this, Kimberly Kight’s Cotton + Steel Lucky Strikes Collection. This design had the most wonderful name, Tuesday night ladies bowling league 1972. Fantastic. Thanks for the amazing inspiration Kim!
Here a few pics of my process for Ms. Pachyderm.
…. and I just had to model the final piece. I think it suits me.
The day we hung the window did feature a little silliness but we were hanging streamers and pink elephants after all.
